Road trip to Tucson

On January 11th, Andy was due to start a 3 week training course on the upgraded C model of the A-10 in Tucson, AZ. The C model is what they fly in Germany, so anyone coming from Korea who previously flew the A model needs this course to learn the upgraded Avionics...he's even more pumped about the A-10 after learning all the new gadgets it has. A kid in the candy store, I say :) So, we started the next leg on our journey with a 2 day road trip to Tucson. It was about 16 hours total, so we stopped to see Andy's Aunt & Uncle in L.A. and stayed over night before driving the last 7 hours. All in all it was a great trip!
Dad went on a trip (he flys for Delta) so it was just mom and the girls to say goodbye to.

Ty taking one last attempt at our paper towel barricade...thank you Costco!
One last awkard hug pic before we hit the road
We stopped in San Jose to see some extended family on Andy's side. Such wonderful people...wish we could have stayed longer :)
Cousins :)

On the road with banana in hand...or in mouth :)
Andy on a bike ride with uncle John in LA
Our get-up :) I have to give a shout out to my hubby here. He built this wonderful trailer with no instructions...just some wood, drills, and paint. It worked perfect to lock our stuff in since I had a bunch of things in California for the year. With those racing stripes we would have looked good in Nascar! Sadly enough we just sold both car and trailer this last week in preparation for moving...tear :-(
Getting back to the desert outside of LA with a sea of Windmills....this went on for miles n' miles
Serious driver :)
Since our minivan has the dvd player and I knew how much of a help it was when I drove it down to MS, we had to come up with a plan. We strapped our portable one to the back of the headrest with a bungee cord ...it worked perfect!!! Try it, you'll see :)
At a rest stop to feed Ty, change him and prep him for bed.
Yes! Back to the Rattlesnakes!! (no, that is not sarcasm :)
A little play time with wheel n' horn before bed
We stopped to see Pam n Tony (Andy's sis and bro in law) in Phoenix a few days after arriving in Tucson. We were privelaged to watch the kids do some of their sports. Here Meg is on the left ready to give a hook!
And Tom on the left breaking out the roundhouse leg kick :)
Pete at Tennis
And back to reality in Tucson....our 10x20 storage unit with ALL of our household goods that have been stored for the last 14 months. We can't wait to get this all shipped to Germany just to be overwhelmed at how much stuff we have when we unpack! This is Andy's look of despair :)
Garage Sale anyone!?!
